The photographic business was my early vocation. This morphed into a lifelong interest in taking photographs, initially concentrating on underwater specializing in macro subjects and spreading to cover areas of the world that I visited.
Our company, Berkey Photo, Inc. (of which I was President) owned amateur and professional photo labs, imported cameras and photographic equipment from Germany and Japan, owned and managed the world’s largest camera stores and manufactured amateur and professional photgraphic equipment. One of our professional labs was world renowned for its dye-transfer printing of Ernst Haas and Jay Maisel originals and the first moon shots for NASA.
Underwater photography took me to areas throughout the Caribbean, Grenadine, Galapagos and Solomon Islands as well as New Guinea, The Great Barrier Reef off Australia and other locations.,
In addition, my travel included land trips to Africa, China, Europe and elsewhere, photos of which are exhibited here. Thank you for contributions by Adam Berkey, Reid Mooney and most of all John Mooney’s assistance, he is the best.
